   • Battling Inferiority--Pride

3. THE BASICS OF UNITY (VS 10)
   • "Speak the same thing"
   • "be perfectly joined"

Conclusion

1. Christ wants our unity with each other to emulate His unity with the Father.
2. I am not naturally bent for unity, so I must battle for it.
3. Unity can be experienced through an easing of the tension and a knitting together in love. (Col 2:2)

1. ITS ORIGIN: ORIGINAL SIN (Romans 5:12)
   • The inheritance from Adam
   • One part of a bigger whole
   • The Inspiration of Sins
2. ITS ORIENTATION: SELF-GOVERNMENT (Romans 8:1-9)
   • In opposition to God's Law which reveals sin
   • In opposition to God's Spirit which remakes saint
3. ITS ORNAMENTATION: WORKS OF THE FLESH (1 Cor 3:1-4)
   • Causing wickedness of the spirit
