A Time to Plant

PLANT THREE ROWS OF PEAS
- Peace of mind - only by accepting Jesus
  - not in material things
  - not in drugs
  - not in pleasure of life
- Peace of heart - only by accepting Jesus
  - no fear of future
  - no condemnation of the past
- Peace of soul - only by accepting Jesus
PLANT FOUR ROWS OF LETTUCE
- Let us be faithful
  - To God
  - To marriage
  - To God's work

  - One to another

- Let us be obedient
  - To God
  - Children to parents

- Thyme for God
  - Time of getting away with God
  - Putting God first
  - Involving God in decision making process
- Thyme for study
- Thyme for prayer
- Thyme for family

WATERING
- the Holy Spirit, who gives, strength, grace and patience
CULTIVATE
- with love

Deut. 8:1-9

"The Purpose of the Wilderness"

To Know what is in our hearts Deut 8:2, 16-17
- By humbling (humiliate, weaken) us
- By Testing (prove) us
To Know that man does not live by bread alone Deut 8:3
- A. God fed them with manna that they never had before!
- God taught them to live by His promises - not by bread alone
To Know that God chastens us Deut 8:5
- God disciplines those He loves! Heb 11:5-6
- Discipline is a mark of sonship Heb 11:7-8
- We should respect God's discipline Heb 11:9
- He disciplines to make us holy Heb 11:10-11

Conclusion

God is bringing us into spiritual Canaan! Deut 8:7-9
