Discussion: What does contentment look like, in real life?
Discussion: What are some guidelines for how to value work, provide for the family, and yet to avoid becoming a workaholic?
Discussion: How should we define extravagance?

Discussion: How is giving an essential element of stewardship?
John Wesley is quoted as having said, “Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can.” [1]
Discussion: Would you agree that this statement should be the Christian’s value?
(If so, does this value allow any leeway for entertainment expenses? How can we avoid legalism in stewardship, yet while truly being stewards of what God has entrusted to us?)
Discussion: According to our scripture text, what are reasons why we should be careful to be good stewards of God’s possessions?
Answers might include:
- The real danger of spiritual destruction, vv. 9, 10.
- Need to maintain a spotless testimony before others, vv. 12-14.
- The majesty and power of God, to whom we are accountable, vv. 15, 16.
- The uncertainty of earthly riches, v. 17.
- The good that can be done by giving/helping those in need, v. 18.
- The importance of creating eternal treasure, v. 19.)
