Discussion: What does the world expect from Christmas?  What is Christmas to the world?

Discussion: What does the Church expect from Christmas?

Discussion: Jesus is the Messiah.  What did the Jews expect from their Messiah?

Big Idea: Jesus is God Almighty clothed in human flesh.

1. Jesus is the all-knowing counselor.

Discussion: What great benefit is it to us that Jesus is the all-knowing counselor?

2. Jesus is the all-powerful deliverer.

Discussion: We understand that, at this point, Christ has not set up His physical kingdom.  How is the deliverance that Christ has already brought so wonderful?

Discussion: How should our belief that Jesus is all-powerful affect our attitudes about life?

3. Jesus is the ever-present comforter.

Discussion: We know that Jesus is the Son of God.  Why then does Isaiah 9:6 say He is the “Everlasting Father”?

Discussion: How does Jesus give us comfort?

4. Jesus is the all-good ruler.

Discussion: Picture in your mind the millennial reign of Christ.  How will the reign of Christ be different from the reigns of kings, presidents, and dictators today?
