Working for the Lord.

Matthew 25:14-18 (14)

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

America’s Got Talent (AGT) is a televised American talent show competition which premiered in June 2006.   It is part of the global Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell who serves as one of the four judges.  The show averages around 10 million viewers per season.

The show attracts a variety of participants who possess some form of talent.  The acts judged on the show include singing, dancing, comedy, magic, stunts, variety, and other genres. Each participant who auditions attempts to secure a place in the live episodes of a season. Those that make it into the live episodes compete against each other for both the judges’ and public’s vote in order to reach the live final, where the winner receives a large cash prize, paid over a period of time, and a chance to headline a show on the Las Vegas Strip.

Since its premiere, America’s Got Talent has helped to unearth new talent.  Many of the contestants have gone on to establish careers  in their field of interest.     (

Our Lord bestows on each of us special talents, strengths, and spiritual gifts.  He then gives us the opportunities to exercise our talents for His glory.  What we are given is not used to entertain or to gain personal acclaim.   Rather we are equipped to serve effectively for His glory and honor.
